On Friday, Jan. 11, Strikeforce held the weigh-ins for its final event, Strikeforce: ‘Marquardt vs. Saffiedine’ from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla. The same venue will host the event on Saturday, Jan. 12. The promotion will close its doors after the event.

In the night’s main event, Strikeforce welterweight champion Nate Marquardt will defend his belt against Belgian import Tarec Saffiedine. The winner is likely to make an immediate impact on the UFC’s 170-pound division.

Also on the main card, Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier faces promotional newcomer Dion Staring, former middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza battles UFC import Ed Herman, former light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi locks horns with Mike Kyle, and former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett meets Nandor Guelmino.

The night’s five-fight main card will air live on Showtime beginning at 10 p.m. ET, four undercard bouts will air live on Showtime Extreme at 8 p.m. ET, while two fights will be un-aired.
