UFC on Fox 7 adds Nate Diaz vs. Josh Thomson

A battle of Bay Area lightweights has been added to the April 20 UFC on Fox 7 card in San Jose, Calif.

Nate Diaz, coming off a loss to current UFC champion Benson Henderson, will look to get back in the win column against former Strikeforce title challenger and UFC veteran Josh Thomson.

Thomson last fought in May, losing to champion Gilbert Melendez, who will face the aforementioned Henderson in the Fox 7 main event.

‘King Mo’ returns on at Bellator 90 to face Emanuel Newton

After a successful Bellator debut in which he scored a big knockout over Przemyslaw Mysiala, former Strikeforce champion Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal will return to action at Bellator 90 on Feb. 21 in Utah.

Lawal will meet fellow Season 8 light heavyweight tournament semifinalist Emanuel Newton, who also earned a win at Bellator 86.

Bellator 90 will take place at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City. The main card will air live on Spike TV, with the undercard streaming on Spike.com. The main event features the Season 7 featherweight tournament final between Rad Martinez and Shahbulat Shamhalaev.

Randy Couture signs with Spike TV; Set to coach on Bellator reality series

UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture has signed a multi-year deal with Spike TV. As part of the deal, Couture will be a coach in the forthcoming Bellator MMA reality show which begins shooting in February and airs later this year.

An official announcement from the Viacom-owned Spike is expected Feb. 5 during a press conference in Los Angeles.

The unnamed reality series is being run by multi-time Emmy winner Bertram Van Munster.

Tom DeBlass returns from retirement to compete at Bellator 95

UFC veteran Tom DeBlass’ retirement was short-lived.

The fighter, who announced he was hanging up his gloves in November following his release from the UFC, will return to action at Bellator 95.

The New Jersey grappler has competed at heavyweight, light heavyweight, and most recently, middleweight. No word on his opponent or location of the event is available at this time.
