Bisping to co-headline UFC 159 against Alan Belcher

The card at UFC 159 is filling out nicely as mulitple fights have been announced for the card.

Middleweights Michael Bisping and Alan Belcher will fight in the co-main event. Meanwhile, Nick Catone will take on James Head in a welterweight contest.

Last night it was revealed that heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Roy Nelson would meet, as well as light heavyweights Phil Davis and Vinny Magalhaes.

Also tabbed for the event is a lightweight battle between New Jersey’s Jim Miller and Strikeforce No. 1 contender Pat Healy.

UFC 159 takes place on April 27 in Newark, N.J. and is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen.

Bellator 87 lightweight tournament official

Today, Bellator held their weigh-ins for Bellator 87.  It will mark the start of the season eight lightweight tournament.

One big-named fighter was absent from the list as Patricky Freire was supposed to take on Guillaum DeLorenzi, but due to an injury in his final sparring session, was forced out of the tournament and has been replaced by Saad Awad. Awad was originally scheduled to take on Jason Fischer, who will now fight Sevak Magakian.

Aoki to meet Boku at April One FC event

One of the top lightweight fighters to ever come out of Asia has a scrap booked.  “One FC 8: Kings and Champions” will host a bout between Shinya Aoki and Kotetsu Boku, the promotion’s lightweight champion.

Both fighters fought for the promotion back in October, each exiting the cage after a victory.

As it currently stands, this fight is the only one announced for the event that will take place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
