UFC 156: Aldo vs. Edgar Weigh-ins (Video) The MMA Corner Staff January 30, 2013 Events, Video On Friday, Feb. 1, the UFC held the weigh-ins for its upcoming UFC 156 event which takes place from the Mandalay Events Center in Las Vegas. Bantamweights Francisco Rivera, Edwin Figueroa and Dustin Kimura all came in heavy on their first attempt. The event will feature a featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The fight marks one of the most-anticipated superfights in recent memory. In addition to the main event, the main card also features former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans facing off with Brazilian Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem meets Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, grapplers Jon Fitch and Demian Maia go to battle and lightning-fast flyweights Joseph Benavidez and Ian McCall lock horns. The event will feature a total of 11 bouts. A two-hour, four-fight showcase will air on FX, while two bouts will stream via the promotion’s YouTube page. Saturday’s main card will air live on pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. ET. The preliminary card will be split between a 8 p.m. ET FX broadcast and a YouTube stream beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
