Bellator brings welterweight tournament finals to Maine

The yet to be named Bellator event will take place March 21 from The Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Maine. The current welterweight tournament finals are expected to take place at the event as well as the Bellator debuts of kickboxing world champion Michael Page and UFC veteran Marcus Davis.

The event will broadcast live starting at 10 p.m. EST on Spike. The preliminary card will stream on Spike.com starting at 8 p.m. EST.

UFC on Fuel TV 9 gains bout

Swedish Welterweights Besam Yousef and Papy Abedi will meet at the April 6 event.

UFC on Fuel TV takes place from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.

Main events announced for Badbeat 8

The Southern California MMA promotion BAMMA USA will hold Badbeat 8 on Friday, March 15 at the Commerce Casino in Commerce, Calif.

The event will be headlined by a bantamweight fight between UFC veteran Jared Papazian and Terrion Ware. In the co-main, fresh off a win at Badbeat 6, Steve Magdaleno meets Chris Culley at featherweight.

CFA adds women’s featherweight tournament

Championship Fighting Alliance will begin an inaugural, eight-woman featherweight tournament on March 2.

The four preliminary fights will take place at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Florida.

Kelsey De Santis faces Brighton Hutton, Taylor Stratford faces Allanna Jones, Revelina Berto faces Peggy Morgan and Ashlee Evans-Smith faces Tori Adams.

TUF 17 episode two ratings

Tuesday night’s episode of TUF averaged 1.27 million viewers on FX. The season’s second fight saw Team Sonnen’s Luke Barnatt defeat Team Jone’s Gilbert Smith.

It was a slight drop from the 1.5 rating earned on the premier episode.

Bellator 87 ratings

Bellator’s live broadcast earned 750,000 viewers last Thursday on Spike TV.

The Jan. 31 event saw lightweight quarter finalists move forward with David Rickels defeating Lloyd Woodard in the main event.
