UFC 156: Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva Post-Fight Interview (Video) The MMA Corner Staff February 3, 2013 Events, Video On Saturday, Feb. 2, the UFC held UFC 156 from the Mandalay Events Center in Las Vegas. The event featured a featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The fight marked one of the most-anticipated superfights in recent memory. Saturday’s main card aired live on pay-per-view starting at 10 p.m. ET. The preliminary card was split between a 8 p.m. ET FX broadcast and a YouTube stream beginning at 7 p.m. ET. In addition to the main event, the main card also featured former EliteXC heavyweight champion Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva facing off with former Strikeforce champion Alistair Overeem. Silva defeated Overeem by third-round TKO to earn the “Knockout of the Night” award. With the win, Silva is hoping for another crack at UFC champion Cain Velasquez. Velasquez defeated Silva via TKO at UFC 146 in May after opening a large cut on the head of Bigfoot. The massive Brazilian bounced back with a vicious stoppage of the previously undefeated Travis Browne at UFC on FX 5. The win over Overeem gives Silva a strong case for a rematch with the champion later this year. A post-fight video interview with the Brazilian appears below.
