Should Pettis successfully dethrone Aldo, he remains the top contender to the UFC lightweight title, currently held by Benson Henderson and sought after by Gilbert Melendez. However, should Aldo defend the belt successfully, he will indeed fight at 155 with the lightweight title on the line.
