Overeem vs. Dos Santos pushed to summer

At UFC 160, Alistair Overeem and former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos were expected to lock horns, however an injured quad suffered by Alistair Overeem had to temporarily cancel the bout.

Early speculation thought that recent winner Mark Hunt would get the shot at the former champion, however UFC president Dana White has new plans.  Rather than scratch the fight all together, it appears as though the fight will now take place sometime during the summer at an event that has been yet to be announced.

UFC on Fox 7 gets two new fights

The UFC has announced two new fights for their seventh even on Fox, as Joseph Benavidez will battle Darren Uyenoyama at flyweight, and Francisco Rivera will fight Hugo Viana at bantamweight.

With a victory, Joseph Benavidez could find him fighting again for the 125-pound title.

UFC on Fox 7 will take place on April 20 in San Jose.


Doolan vs. Pennington set for Cage Warriors

Top bantamweights of the UK will square off as James Doolan will take on James Pennington at CWFC’s event on Saturday, April 13.

Both fighters will enter the Cage Warriors for the first time, but both bring impressive records into the cage with Doolan’s record as 17-8-2, and Pennington holding a record of 6-1.

The main event on the evening is scheduled to be a featherweight tilt between Jim Alvers and Joni Salovaara.

Silva vs. Hathaway at UFC on Fuel TV 10

UFC on Fuel TV 10 will serve as the finale for the second season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, and with it, a welterweight match between Erick Silva and John Hathaway will take place too.

The Brazilian is coming off of a tough loss in a fight of the night effort against Jon Fitch, however Hathaway has had better luck recently, winning three straight fights.

UFC on Fuel TV 10 takes place on June 8 in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil.

Joachim Hansen signs with ROAD FC

Former Shooto and DREAM champion Joachim Hansen has signed a contract with Korean promotion ROAD FC.

The Norwegian has an impressive list of victories throughout his career which include Shinya Aoki, Takanori Gomi, Yves Edwards, and others.

“Hellboy” will look to make his promotional debut at ROAD FC 011 which takes place in Seoul on April 13.
