Rousey, Tate-Zingano winner to coach TUF 18

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey draws more than just a title defense against the winner of TUF 17’s clash between Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano. Her next challenger, whether it be Tate or Zingano, will coach opposite Rousey on The Ultimate Fighter 18. The season will not only serve as only the second to feature bantamweights, but it will also mark the first co-ed season, therefore making it the first season to feature female fighters.

Fox unsure of whether TUF will stay on FX

The UFC’s current programming  on FX and Fuel TV will move from their respective channels to Fox Sports 1 this summer. However, Fox officials do not yet know if “The Ultimate Fighter”, which currently pulls an average of a little over 1.2 million viewers weekly this season, will stay on FX or move to Fox Sports 1. If the popular series does move to Fox Sports 1 for season 18, UFC president Dana White will certainly say something, but right now, White can say little outside of it being a “work in progress” as of this time.

UFC planning return to Boston in 2013

Boston fans, rejoice. The UFC will come back in 2013.

UFC president Dana White heard the questions of when the UFC would bring a sophomore outing to Beantown, noting the promotion’s absence from the city in 2011 and 2012. While White kept mum about when it will happen, he did guarantee that the outing will come sooner than most think. The UFC’s inaugural outing in Boston came when UFC 118 featured a lightweight title fight between Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn, as well as a collision between Randy Couture and James Toney.
