UFC on Fox Sports 1 debuts Aug. 17

The UFC returns to Boston at the TD Garden for the Aug. 17 event.

No official name has been given to the card, nor any fights announced.

The targeted event will be part of the Aug 17 relaunch of Fox’s SPEED channel to the sports-oriented Fox Sports 1.

CWFC Fight Night 8 gets Bielkheden vs. Mason

The Cage Warriors Fight Night 8 event has its first fight announced, a main card bout between two welterweights.

David Bielkheden and Jack Mason will meet at the May 11 event set to take place in the Middle East emirate of Al Fujairah.

Further fights and venue TBA.

D.J. Linderman vacates Cage Warriors title

Linderman has vacated his CWFC heavyweight title in order to get a shot at a heavyweight or light heavyweight title for Legacy Fighting Championship.

He will meet Robert Drysdale for the opportunity to possibly fight for a title at Legacy FC 19 on April 12 at the Allen Event Center from Allen, Texas.

UFC signs Chinese bantamweight Tuerxun

Jumabieke Tuerxun will be the second-ever Chinese fighter to join the UFC.

The undefeated 135-pounder is currently awaiting a debut date.

Oliveira signs four-fight deal with UFC

Featherweight Charles Oliveira has already competed in the Octagon eight times, and will come into his next UFC bout with a contract for four more fights.

Oliveira is set to meet former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 162 in Las Vegas for Edgar’s second fight at featherweight.

Josh Neer, three others released by UFC

Four fighters that are coming off loses have been released by the UFC.

Neer, 30, has been released by the UFC after losing three straight. Also gone are Brock Jardine, who lost his last two fights for the promotion, Caros Fodor and Jon Manley, each with losses in their respective UFC debuts.

Fitch vs. Burkman set for WSOF 3

Welterweights John Fitch and Josh Burkman will meet in a non-title fight at World Series of Fighting 3.

Fitch, a veteran of 18 UFC fights, makes his WSOF debut at the June 14 WSOF 3 event from Las Vegas.
