On Thursday, April 4, Invicta Fighting Championships hosted the weigh-ins for its fifth event from the Aladdin Holiday Inn Downtown Kansas City in Kansas City, Mo.

The card will be headlined by two title fights. Recently crowned atomweight champion Jessica Penne will make the first defense of her belt against “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson. Also, the promotion will crown its inaugural flyweight champion as Barb Honchak battles Brazilian Vanessa Porto.

In addition to the headlining bouts, former Strikeforce champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino will make her promotional debut against Fiona Muxlow and former Bellator champion Zoila Gurgel will take on Jennifer Maia.

The event will air via pay-per-view on the promotion’s website for $9.95. Doors open at 5 p.m. CT with the five-fight preliminary card beginning at 6 p.m. CT.

All 26 fighters made weight for the event, including the night’s headliners.

Per Invicta: any fighter who misses weight on her first try will be deducted 10 percent of her fight purse. If a fighter is still unable to make weight on her second try, the penalty increases to 25 percent.
