The last episode of TUF 2 Brazil was marked by controversy from injuries that had a significant impact on Team Nogueira.

After performing tests, the doctors concluded that Yan Cabral was unable to continue in the competition and had to leave the program. In his place, Daniel “Gelo” was chosen to return to the program.

The fighters were chosen for the next clash.  Team Nogueira’s Neilson Gomes was set to meet Team Werdum’s Viscardi Andrade. Nobody wanted to see another injury just a few days before fighting, but after carrying out tests, doctors detected that Gomes had torn a ligament in his left knee. In the same episode, two fighters were eliminated from the reality series.

With Gomes out, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira called on Thiago “Jambo” Goncalves, who had lost the elimination round fight against Andrade, to return to the TUF house. That decision angered Andrade, who said that he saw no need for a rematch after having already defeated the wrestler.

The fight started with Jambo dominating the center of the Octagon, doing well in controlling the distance. Jambo took Andrade down and threw some elbows to the body as Team Werdum urged Andrade to get up.

In the middle to the end of the first round, the tide turned. Andrade pressed Jambo against the cage and applied a sequence of blows to the belly and head of Jambo. Jambo fell after Andrade threw another sequence of punches, and the fight was stopped. This victory led the Team Werdum fighter to the quarterfinals of the program.

After the end of the fight, Andrade pointed to Minotauro and saying that this was his fault. Minotauro told Andrade to be quiet.

Andrade later apologized, saying that he was upset at having to lose weight and fight twice in a row against an athlete he had just defeated. Fabricio Werdum also apologized, saying it was not intended to offend the opposing team. The climate warmed at the home of TUF 2 Brazil.

With their third consecutive victory, Team Werdum remains in a comfortable position in the program. Now, Team Nogueira needs to change its strategy to recover.
