MacDonald vs. Ellenberger at UFC on Fox 8

The UFC has confirmed that welterweights Rory MacDonald and Jake Ellenberger will meet in a July bout at UFC on Fox 8. The fight will take place on the Fox portion of the broadcast.

Bellator announces Summer Series four-man tournaments

This summer will see Bellator holding four-man tournaments in lieu of the traditional eight-man tournaments for their Summer Series. This seasonal change will see a tournament champion crowned in the heavyweight, light heavyweight, and bantamweight divisions.

Dates, venues, and participants are to be announced. The eight-man tournament format will return in the fall.

Nelson out of UFC 160, Story in

Gunnar Nelson was forced to withdraw from a meeting with Mike Pyle at UFC 160 due to a knee injury. His replacement will be Rick Story for the May 25 card.

One FC 9 set for May 31 with two title fights

The Asian promotion One FC has announced the event “One FC 9: Rise to Power,” which will be headlined by a main event between promotional featherweight champion Honorio Banario vs. Koji Oishi. The co-headliner will be between Bibiano Fernandes and Koetsu Okazaki, fighting for an interim bantamweight title while champion Soo Chul Kim is out due to surgery.

The event will take place May 31 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines. It will be available for streaming via online pay-per-view.
