Gabriel Gonzaga Plans to Appeal Loss to Travis Browne 

Gabriel Gonzaga plans to appeal his controversial loss to Travis Browne at the TUF 17 Finale. Gonzaga was knocked out by a series of elbows as he attempted a takedown off the cage.

Browne took home Knockout of the Night honors but the victory has caused quite a stir in the MMA community. Along with appealing the loss, Gonzaga’s camp is looking for a rematch.

Brendan Schaub to Compete on BJJ Pay-Per-View Event 

UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub will compete at the Metamoris Pro Jiu Jitsu Invitational  II, a BJJ pay-per-view card, on June 9.  He will face Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu at a catchweight of 230 pounds.

Schaub has the green light from UFC President Dana White and doesn’t have a fight lined up at the moment. The event’s main attraction will be DREAM and ONE FC lightweight champ Shinya Aoki taking on Kron Gracie.

WSOF 3 Gets Venue, New Fights Added 

The World Series of Fighting 3 event now has a venue along with some additional fights. The card will go down in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casion in Las Vegas and will feature a co-main event of Tyrone Spong vs. Angel DeAnda.

Rolles Gracie vs. Dave Huckaba and Justin Gaethje vs. Brian Cobb have also been added to the card. WSOF 3 will take place on June 14 and will be headlined by a welterweight clash between Jon Fitch and Josh Burkman.

Cage Warriors Adds Additional Bouts to Cage Warriors 54 Card 

The Cage Warriors Fighting Championship promotion has announced some additional match ups for their Cage Warriors 54 card. Danny Roberts will face Diego Gonzalez and Ashley Beaumont will make his CWFC debut against Matt Inman.

Two bantamweight bouts have been added to the prelims as Brett Johnstakes on James MacAlister and Davey Grant faces Joe Orrey. A lightweight contest between Brad Wheeler (9-8) and Welsh native Jamie Rogers will also go down.

The card is set to take place on May 4 and will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between defending champion Jesse Taylor and John Phillips.
