On Saturday, June 29, the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. will host the inaugural event from Sidelight Entertainment Group entitled “The British Invasion.”

The 11-fight card will feature a country-versus-country format that pits fighters from the United States against those from England.

Numerous big show veterans will compete at the event, including Octagon veteran Oli Thompson who takes on Kevin Asplund in the night’s headlining bout.

Other notables include former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez, Ultimate Fighter winner Kendall Grove, WEC standout L.C. Davis, as well as UFC veterans Andre Winner and Drew Fickett.

The event is slated to air via pay-per-view. Tickets, which range from $35 to $100, can be purchased here.

Speaking exclusively with The MMA Corner, promoter Robert Beene revealed that the promotion has been working for nearly two years to put together the format, as well as the stacked fight card. Beene stated that Sidelight Entertainment Group intends to continue its country-versus-country format in the fall, targeting a November event featuring the United States versus Japan, also in Kansas City.
