Darren Elkins vs. Hatsu Hioki Set for UFC on FOX Sports 1: 2

Indiana native, Darren Elkins will get to stay at home when he meets Hatsu Hioki at UFC on FOX Sports 1: 2.

Elkins was on a five-fight win streak before he met Chad Mendes in April where he was knocked out by the former featherweight title challenger. Elkins took the fight with Mendes on short notice.

Elkins dropped to featherweight after a 1-1 stint to begin his UFC career at lightweight. After that, Elkins rattled off a bunch of wins over fighters like Michihiro Omigawa, Diego Brandao, Steven Siler and Antonio Carvalho.

Hioki will return to the cage riding a two-fight losing streak after dropping decisions against Clay Guida and Ricardo Lamas. Hioki is 2-2 in the UFC after being signed away from Shooto when he was the number two ranked featherweight in the world.

The two will meet at UFC on FOX Sports 1: 2 which takes place on August 28 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The card is headlined by a much hyped rematch between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann.

Gadelha-Hamasaki Official for IFC 6

Ayaka Hamasaki may no longer be fighting for the title, but she will now have an opponent at Invicta FC 6.

With champion Carla Esparza pulling out due to injury, Hamasaki will now face Claudia Gadelha who was originally slated to fight on the card as well.

Gadelha’s original opponent, Joanne Calderwood, will now face Sarah Schneider.

Gadelha most recently won over Herica Tiburcio in May and this will be her first fight for Invicta. Hamasaki on the other hand won by decision this past December over Emi Fujino under the JEWELS banner.

IFC 6 takes place on July 13 in Kansas City at the Ameristar Casino Hotel.

Paul Daley to Headline Cage Warriors 57

Paul Daley will finally return to Cage Warriors next month when the welterweight takes on Lukasz Chlewicki. The fight will be the main event at Cage Warriors 57.

Daley fought last month in a knockout victory at Dubai Fighting Championship 4 over Rodrigo Ribeiro. Daley is riding a three-fight win streak currently with all three wins being knockouts.

After five years, Daley’s return will headline the Cage Warriors 57 card that takes place in Liverpool at the Echo Arena on July 20.

Cage Warriors 56 Fight Announcements

With Cage Warriors 56 to take place on July 6 at The Forum in Kentish Town, London, England, the main card has now been set with multiple announcements.

Featherweight, Robbie Oliver will take on newly signed Patrik Berisha. Another featherweight battle between Graham Turner and Nad Narimani has also been set for the July 6 card.

Also, a 160 pound catchweight fight featuring Warren Kee and Phillip Mulpeter will head to the main card. The preliminary card will also add a fight between Sean Carter and Adam Boussif, a pair of undefeated lightweights.

Bellator Moving to Friday Nights This Fall 

Bellator has announced they will be moving to Friday nights on Spike TV this fall. The promotion’s second season on Spike will run from 9-11pm (EST) on Fridays starting on Sept. 13.

The move was reportedly made to avoid conflicts with NFL games on Thursdays.

Two Flyweight Bouts Added to UFC 163 Card 

Two flyweight contests have been added to the UFC 163 card. Iliarde Santos will square off against top contender Ian McCall and John Lineker will face Phil Harris.

Santos is 27-7 but is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Yuri Alcantara. McCall hasn’t competed since losing to Joseph Benavidez but is one of the division’s most recognizable stars. Lineker  is 2-1 in the UFC and recently defeated Azamat Gashimov. Harris recently defeated Ulysses Gomez via unanimous decision back in Feb.

Diego Nunes Signs with Bellator

After being released from the UFC this past winter, Diego Nunes has found his new home: Bellator MMA.

The featherweight fighter will join an already tough stable of 145-pound fighters. Nunes was 3-3 during his UFC tenure with none of his fights ending before the final bell. Following his loss to Nik Lentz at UFC on FX 7, Nunes’ status was up in the air and eventually he was cut.

No word yet on Nunes’ first opponent in Bellator.

ONE FC 10 set with Flyweight Title Fight

ONE FC 10 has been announced and is set for September 13 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The ONE FC 10 card will contain the first ever flyweight title fight for the promotion in a fight between Yasuhiro Urushitani and Shinichi Kojima.

Both Urushitani and Kojima have met before, twice in fact, both fights ending in draws. This will be the rubber match between the two and only the second fight removed from Urushitani’s UFC tenure. Urushitani is coming off of a split decision win last month against Rey Docyogen that saw Urushitani snap a two-fight losing streak.

Kojima also fought Docyogen back in February, Kojima’s debut with ONE FC, a fight Kojima won by second round submission.

Louis Gaudinot to meet Tim Elliott at UFC 164

A flyweight battle showcasing Louis Gaudinot and Tim Elliott has been set for UFC 164 according to UFC Tonight.

This will be Gaudinot’s first fight since last May when Gaudinot submitted John Lineker in a “Fight of the Night” performance. Gaudinot is so far 1-1 in his UFC tenure after a stint on The Ultimate Fighter.

Now with injuries aside, Gaudinot will face Elliott at UFC 164. Elliott is also 1-1 in the UFC and is coming off of a “Fight of the Night” win over Jared Papazian.

UFC 164 takes place on August 31 in Milwaukee and is headlined by a lightweight title fight between Benson Henderson and TJ Grant.

Manny Gamburyan vs. Cole Miller set for UFC on Fox Sports 1: 1

Another fight has been added to UFC on FOX Sports 1: 1 in the form of a featherweight tilt between Manny Gamburyan and Cole Miller.

Miller submitted Bart Palazewski in his most recent outing which snapped a two-fight losing streak for Miller at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale.

Gamburyan was last seen this past August where he earned the decision victory over Michihiro Omigawa at UFC on FOX: Shogun vs. Vera. The fight was Gamburyan’s first UFC victory and halted a three-fight losing skid.

UFC on Fox Sports 1: 1 takes place on August 13 at TD Garden in Boston.
