Georges St-Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks slated for Nov. 16 in Las Vegas

UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre now has a date set to defend his belt against top contender Johny Hendricks.

St-Pierre vs. Hendricks is expected to take place on Nov. 16 at UFC 167 in Las Vegas.

This will be the 20th anniversary show for the promotion, which began Nov. 12, 1993.

Bid to legalize mixed martial arts in New York is knocked out in Assembly

After a closed-door meeting in New York, the verdict is no MMA in the Big Apple in 2013.

In a Democratic conference Tuesday night, Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver stated that the bill to legalize MMA in New York will not go to the floor for a vote before the legislative sessions ends.

Lorenzo Fertitta vowed to continue pushing for the sport to be legal in the state.

Dylan Andrews vs. Papy Abedi added to August’s UFC on Fox Sports 1: 2 event

A middleweight bout has been added to the UFC on Fox Sports 1: 2 lineup for Aug. 28 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The Ultimate Fighter 17 competitor Dylan Andrews will take on Sweden’s Papy Abedi. This will be Abedi’s debut at 185 pounds.

With the addition, the fight card now has 12 bouts with the updated fight card below:

UFC 164 adds two bouts to lineup

Two bouts have been added to UFC 164, which takes place on Aug. 31 in Milwaukee’s Bradley Center.

Former WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner will lock horns with Brazilian Gleison Tibau, while Milwaukee-based Pascal Krauss will take on Hyun Gyu Lim.

Bellator MMA set for Sept. 7 event in Connecticut

Bellator MMA has confirmed an event on Sept. 7 from the Mohegan Sun Casino in Montville, CT.

An exclusive pre-ticket sales from the Mohegan Sun was sent to The MMA Corner on Wednesday. Tickets for the public to purchase will go on sale Thursday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. ET.

On Spike TV’s Bellator 96 broadcast, it was announced middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko will defend his belt against Doug Marshall, while Joe Warren takes on Nick Kirk.

XFC signs two new welterweights to roster

The XFC has signed two new 170-pound fighters to deepen its roster.

Ian Stephens and Ladarious Jackson will be added to the promotion full time after debuting this year.
