Global Warrior Challenge held its first event, titled The British Invasion: U.S. vs. U.K., on Saturday, June 29, from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.

The 11-fight card featured a country-versus-country format that pitted fighters from the United States against those from England. The event featured many recognizable MMA veterans, and some of Europe’s top names who traveled across the pond to challenge Americans looking to defend their home turf.

Among the stand-out bouts were Kevin Asplund vs. Oli Thompson, Drew Fickett vs. Andre Winner and Ricco Rodriguez vs. Marcin Lazarz. There were also notable names such as Ultimate Fighter winner Kendall Grove, WEC veteran L.C. Davis and former WWE superstar and Strikeforce veteran Bobby Lashley on the pay-per-view portion of the event.

The main card aired on live on pay-per-view beginning at 9 p.m. ET and featured eight of the 11 bouts. The three additional bouts went unaired.
