Anderson Silva rematch confirmed for December 28

A rematch between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman could occur before the end of the year according to a report.

Silva recently conducted an interview with GQ Brazil Magazine, and confirmed that a rematch for his middleweight title will come on Dec. 28. The date is set to hold UFC 168 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

No official news from the UFC has been released, however.

On AXS TV’s ‘Inside MMA’, Silva’s manager Ed Soares stated that no date or venue has been set yet, but a rematch is what will be up next for the former champion.

UFC 162: All drug tests come back clean

This week, fighters who competed at UFC 162 on July 6 took part in the post-event drug testing procedures.

According to a press release from Nevada State Athletic Commission official Keith Kizer, all tests came back as negative.

Koscheck Injured, Out of 163 Maia Fight

A main card bout for UFC 163 has been called of, with the event now proceeding with 12 fights.

Josh Koscheck has been forced out of his welterweight contest against Demian Maia due to injury. As a result, Maia will also be taken out of the slot.

UFC 163 takes place on Aug. 3 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event features featherweight champion Jose Aldo taking on “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung.

UFC on Fox Sports 1 3 in Brazil adds multiple bouts

Multiple bouts have been added to the third event on UFC on Fox Sports 1 which takes place on Sept. 4 from the Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

Bantamweights Johnny Bedford and Hugo Viana will meet, Marcos Vinicius takes on UFC newcomer Ali Bagautinov in a flyweight contest, and Godofredo Pepey battles Sam Sicilia at 145 pounds.

Also, middleweight Rafael Natal will go for three-straight wins against Tor Troeng, while Sean Spencer goes toe-to-toe with Yuri Villefort.

UFC 166 adds Tony Ferguson vs. Mike Rio

A lightweight match-up has been added to UFC 166 in Houston.

Two former Ultimate Fighter competitors will square off as Tony Ferguson takes on Mike Rio.

UFC 166, which takes place on Oct. 19, features the rubber match for the heavyweight championship as Cain Velasquez goes to war with Junior dos Santos.

Bellator MMA signs Jared Downing, debuts against Patricio Pitbull on July 31

Former Resurrection Fighting Alliance featherweight Jared Downing has a new home with Bellator MMA.

The promotion announced the signing today, along with the news of Downing making his debut against Patricio Pitbull on July 31.

Downing will be an injury replacement for Rob Emerson who was forced out of the bout.

Resurrection Fighting Alliance 9 card released

On Friday, RFA announced its ninth event to take place on Aug. 16 live on AXS TV.

Headlining the event from the StubHub Center in Los Angeles will be Pedro Munhoz vs. Keoni Koch for the bantamweight title, along with former Ultimate Fighter 17 competitor Kevin Casey takes on Casey Ryan.

Also featured on the main card: Steve Mocco vs. James Wilson, Jordan Rinaldi vs. Brian Ortega, Chris Spang vs. Alan Jouban, and Matt Manzanares vs. Steve Swanson.
