Howard replaces Samman at UFC Fight Night 26

John Howard will make his return to the Octagon in his hometown of Boston on Aug. 17. “Doomsday” last competed for the UFC in June of 2011. He will replace Josh Samman in a fight against Uriah Hall at middleweight.

The two are set to meet at “UFC Fight Night 26: Shogun vs. Sonnen,” the promotion’s debut event on Fox Sports 1.

Ryan Couture gets new opponent at UFC 164

Lightweight Ryan Couture was originally scheduled to meet Quinn Mulhern at the Aug. 31 UFC 164 event, but Mulhern has dropped out due to a broken hand.

Taking Mulhern’s place against Couture will be TUF 15 finalist Al Iaquinta.

Drysdale off UFC 163, Francimar makes UFC debut as replacement

Light heavyweight Robert Drysdale is off the Aug. 3 UFC 163 card due to staph infection. Replacing him is Francimar “Bodao” Barroso, who will make his UFC debut against Ednaldo Oliveira.

Warburton vs. Murphy for lightweight title at BAMMA 13

Curt Warburton’s fourth fight under the BAMMA banner will be for the promotion’s lightweight title against opponent Jake Murphy.

BAMMA 13 takes place Sept. 14 and the main card will air on AXS TV.

Pulver vs. Aziz headlines SC 9

Long-time MMA veteran Jens Pulver will headline a fight for Swedish MMA promotion Superior Challenge against Sami Aziz at Superior Challenge 9.

SC 9 takes place Nov. 23 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
