Brendan Schaub/Matt Mitrione rescheduled for UFC 165

Finally there is a placement for the former UFC on FOX 8 heavyweight bout between former TUF housemates, Brendan Schaub and Matt Mitrione.

The two will now fight in Toronto at UFC 165 due to an injury Mitrione received that bumped off of the original plans to fight at UFC on FOX 8.

Mitrione is coming off of a suspension due to his comments about transgender fighter, Fallon Fox and won his last time out. Mitrione won back in February against Philip De Fries at UFC on FUEL TV 9 when he knocked out De Fries in 19 seconds.

Schaub is also looking to put together a little winning streak of his own with a win here as he is also coming off of a win. Schaub beat Lavar Johnson at UFC 157 back in February by unanimous decision. Schaub had previously been on a two-fight losing streak after losing to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Ben Rothwell.

UFC 165 takes place on Sept. 21 at the Air Canada Centre. The card is headlined by two title fights; light heavyweight champion Jon Jones taking on Alexander Gustafsson and interim bantamweight champion, Renan Barao takes on Eddie Wineland.
