Bellator 100 heads to Phoenix, features Lima-Saunders II

Bellator MMA’s 100th event will take place on Friday, Sept. 20 from the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix.

In the night’s main event, Douglas Lima will rematch teammate Ben Saunders to wrap up the promotion’s most recent welterweight tournament. Lima scored a second-round knockout over Saunders in the season five tournament final. The winner will earn a $100,000 check, as well as a title shot against the winner of the Ben Askren-Andrey Koreshkov championship bout at Bellator 97.

Also on the card will be the opening round of the season nine, 170-pound tournament as Brent Weedman faces Justin Baesman, War Machine takes on Vaughn Anderson, Matt Riddle clashes with Sergio Junior, and Mark Scanlon meets Herman Terrado.

The event will be broadcast live Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET. The preliminary card will be streamed live and free on Spike.com starting at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Bellator featherweight semifinals head to Kansas on Oct. 11

The semifinals of Bellator MMA’s current featherweight tournament will take place on Friday, Oct. 11 in Wichita, Kan. at the Kansas Star Arena.

Notables participating in the 145-pound tournament include Patricio Pitbull, Diego Nunes, Des Green and Shahbulat Shamhalaev.

Cage Warriors expands roster

Cage Warriors Fighting Championship has added to its roster of fighters with the signings of Saul Rogers, Arnold Allen, Danny Lawson, Paddy Pimblett, Sean Carter and Fabio Ferrari.

All six UK-based fighters have inked five-fight contracts with the promotion.
