UFC 163: Phil Davis Eyes Title Shot with Win Over Machida The MMA Corner Staff August 1, 2013 UFC On Saturday, Aug. 3, the UFC returns to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for UFC 163: Aldo vs. Korean Zombie from the HSBC Arena. The pay-per-view event will be headlined by a featherweight title tilt between current champion Jose Aldo and surging contender Chan Sung Jung, better know as “The Korean Zombie.” The Brazilian Aldo enters the contest riding an eight-year undefeated streak, having yet to taste defeat inside the Octagon. Meanwhile, Jung bounced back from back-to-back losses in his final WEC appearances to string together three straight wins in the UFC. Also on the main card, former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will look to earn another crack at the belt as he takes on wrestling stalwart Phil Davis, Ultimate Fighter: Brazil winner Cezar Ferreira welcomes countryman Thiago Santos to the promotion, former middleweight title challenger Thales Leites returns to the Octagon to face the U.K.’s Tom Watson, and Brazilian flyweights John Lineker and Jose Maria Tome go to battle. The 12-fight event will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET with three bouts streaming on the promotion’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
