On Friday, Aug. 23, Legacy Fighting Championship hosted its 22nd event from the Lubbock Civic Center in Lubbock, Texas.

The event, which aired live on AXS TV, was headlined by a light heavyweight clash between UFC veterans Paul Buentello and James McSweeney. Buentello, a former UFC and Strikeforce heavyweight title challenger, made his 205-pound debut in his home state of Texas. The 39-year-old veteran has gone 5-3 since his release from his second stint with the UFC, but entered the contest riding a three-fight winning streak. McSweeney, meanwhile, carried a 7-4 record since his Zuffa release, but made his Legacy debut after winning five of six.

In addition to the main event, the televised portion of the card featured welterweight veterans Artenas Young and Eric Davila, featherweights Aaron Cerda and George Pacurariu, UFC veteran Joseph Sandoval who faced Jonathan Lopez at bantamweight, and lightweights Anselmo Luna and Justin Reiswerg.
