UFC releases Ryan Couture

Lightweight Ryan Couture, son of former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Randy Couture, has been released from the promotion.

Following a successful stint in Strikeforce, Couture went 0-2 against Ross Pearson and Al Iaquinta, and the UFC has released him from his contract.

UFC 168 gains Siver vs. Gamburyan

The Dec. 28 UFC 168 pay-per-view event headlined by a rematch of newly crowned middleweight champion Chris Weidmen vs. Anderson Silva has gained a featherweight match.

Dennis Siver looks to rebound from a “Fight of the Night” loss as he meets Manny Gamburyan at the event. It is rumored that the bout will be featured on the preliminary portion of the card.

WSOF 6 gets Volkmann vs Firmino prelim bout

Lightweight Jacob Volkmann will look for his second promotional win against newcomer Luiz Firmino at the Oct. 26 World Series of Fighting 6 event.

The bout will serve as the headlining bout of the preliminary portion of the card.

UFC Fight Night 28 drug tests are all clean

The Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) reports that all 22 fighters from the Sept. 4 event from Belo Horizonte, Brazil have passed their drug tests for any drugs of abuse or PED’s.

The event saw a main event meeting between Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira.
