In the Cage – Blanco-Corassani Added to TUF 18 Finale, Legacy FC 24 Gets New Main Event

Each day, The MMA Corner will provide a recap of results, event announcements, fight match-ups, and injuries/cancellations from throughout the world of MMA.

One more fight has been added to the TUF 18 Finale card set to take place in late November as featherweights Maximo Blanco and Akira Corassani will fight.

Blanco is 1-1 in the UFC and picked up his first UFC victory on the TUF 17 Finale card when he beat Sam Sicilia by unanimous decision this past April. That fight was nearly one year removed from his UFC debut, a loss to Marcus Brimage by split decision.

Corassani has had a rough patch since his stint on The Ultimate Fighter, being plagued with injuries. Corassani is 2-0 in the UFC with his latest win also coming this past April at UFC on Fuel TV: Mousasi vs. Latifi. Corassani won the bout by unanimous decision over Robbie Peralta.

The TUF 18 Finale is expected to be headlined by a flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez. The card is slated for November 30 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

With Damacio Page sidelined due to a partially torn LCL, Legacy FC 24 will have a new fighter stepping in to face Ryan Benoit in the main event.

Cody Fuller will fill in for Page at Legacy FC 24. Fuller is coming off of a title fight loss to Micah Stockton at XFL -Xtreme Fight Night 14. Fuller lost in the fifth round by submission. Previous to that, Fuller was on a three-fight win streak with all of those wins coming by knockout or submission.

Benoit is coming off of a loss of his own from this past May. Benoit lost to Anthony Birchak at MFC 37 by unanimous decision. Much like Fuller, Benoit was on a four-fight winning streak with all of his wins also coming by way of knockout or submission.

Legacy FC 24 will take place on October 11 at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas.
