Jones-Teixeira nixed from UFC 169

Contrary to prior reports, the UFC light-heavyweight title clash between champion Jon Jones and challenger Glover Teixeira will not take place on Super Bowl weekend at UFC 169. UFC president Dana White revealed that his team broke the news when the deal still stood incomplete, but the bout will take place sometime during March of 2014. The UFC 169 card itself, meanwhile, awaits a new headliner.

Damm attempting return to 155 after fight cancellation

Rodrigo Damm planned on seeing Hacran Dias inside the Octagon this Wednesday night, but a bout with kidney stones forced the former Strikeforce lightweight title contender from the bout. Now, after undergoing the ordeal with the kidney stones, Damm may attempt a return to 155 pounds. Damm looked to build off of a win over Mizuto Hirota when he matched up against Dias, but now he will take his next task with ten extra pounds.

Newcomer Fili draws Larsen at UFC 166

Andre Fili steps in for an injured Charles Oliveira to combat The Ultimate Fighter 15 veteran Jeremy Larsen at UFC 166 in Houston on Oct. 19. Larsen, who initially signed on to face Estevan Payan, aims to snap a two-fight skid. Fili, meanwhile, hopes a definitive win over Larsen will extend his eight-fight winning streak up to nine in a row.

Payan-Peralta booked for UFC 168

Speaking of Estevan Payan, he will return to action opposite Robbie Peralta at UFC 168 on Dec. 28. Peralta lost to Akira Corassani at UFC on Fuel TV 9 and comes off of a suspension due to a positive drug test for marijuana. Payan looks for his first UFC win after a loss to Jeremy Stephens.

Jotko-Santos booked for UFN 33

13-0 prospects Krzysztof Jotko and Bruno Santos will compete at UFC Fight Night 33 on Dec. 7. Santos, a veteran of Bellator MMA, owns 11 of 13 pro wins by decision. Jotko, a 24-year-old middleweight prospect, will travel to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia with seven of his 13 wins by decision.
