World Series of Fighting 6 Weigh-in Results

On Friday, Oct. 25, World Series of Fighting hosted the weigh-ins for its sixth event which takes place from the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla. on Saturday, Oct. 26 and airs live on the NBC Sports Network.

In the night’s main event, the promotion will crown its inaugural welterweight champion when UFC veteran Josh Burkman takes on former Bellator combatant Steve Carl. The headliners hit their mark on the scales, but a number of others missed weight (denoted by an asterisk below).

UFC Reveals 2014 Schedule

Appearing on Fox Sports Live, UFC President Dana White unveiled the promotion’s plans for 2014, including upcoming events in Chicago, New Jersey and Las Vegas.

White revealed plans for 13 pay-per-view events, four events on Fox, 14 events on Fox Sports 1 (including two TUF Finales), and four additional events on Fox Sports 2.

Although details for many of the events have yet to be ironed out, White announced that Chicago will host UFC on Fox 10 on Jan. 25 from the United Center. Additionally, the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. will host the previously-announced UFC 169. Finally, the promotion returns to its home base of Las Vegas on Feb. 22 for UFC 170 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

McCall Injured, Out of Fight with Jorgensen

Flyweight Ian McCall has suffered an injury in training and has been forced out of his planned UFC on Fox 9 clash with Scott Jorgensen.

Jorgensen, who will make his flyweight debut at the Dec. 14 event, is expected to remain on the card. The promotion is seeking a replacement for McCall.

UFC on Fox 9 will take place from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif. and is headlined by a lightweight title fight between Anthony Pettis and Josh Thomson.
