The reasoning behind this is due to the “champion vs. champion” nature of Cruz-Barao. Cruz hasn’t fought since 2011 while Barao hasn’t lost since his first professional fight. The fight will unify the UFC bantamweight titles. Aldo entered the UFC as champion by virtue of his victories in WEC and hasn’t lost inside the Octagon. Lamas meanwhile is riding a four-fight winning streak.
