Johnson-Benavidez 2, Maynard-Diaz 3 shuffled

With UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis sidelined due to injury, both the UFC on Fox 9 card and The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale will see some changes. Firstly, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson’s rematch with top challenger Joseph Benavidez will take headliner status at UFC on Fox 9, meaning that a lightweight bout between Gray Maynard and Nate Diaz will see headliner status as part of The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale. A timetable on Pettis remains unknown, but the bout with Thomson remains postponed.

Former Bellator MMA veteran Jessica Aguilar will make her way into the WSOF cage. WSOF president Ray Sefo and vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz confirmed Aguilar as the promotion’s first female fighter signing, though Aguilar’s debut remains undetermined, apart from a target time-frame of January 2014. Hill-Skinner for inaugural XFC atomweight crown at XFC 27

XFC 27 may own the tag “Frozen Fury”, but when Angela Hill and Stephanie Skinner compete for the promotion’s inaugural XFC atomweight title, the two striking phenoms will aim to light the MMA world on fire. Hill makes her pro debut at this event, and carries a 4-0 run in the Muay Thai circuit. Skinner, meanwhile, owns wins in two of her past three bouts and looks to build off of that momentum.

ONE FC 12 headliner changes to non-title tilt

Adam Kayoom has been forced from a ONE FC 12 bout with Nobutatsu Suzuki due to a broken rib. Undefeated Vitor Pinto now fills in for Kayoom against Suzuki in the new headliner of ONE FC 12, which will no longer hold the inaugural ONE FC welterweight title in the balance. Like Suzuki,  the undefeated Pinto comes into every fight looking for a finish, and while Pinto debuts for ONE FC on the card, Suzuki rides on the strength of a recent win over Phil Baroni.
