Legacy FC 25: Carlos Diego Ferreira vs. Jorge Patino Full Fight Video Highlights The MMA Corner Staff November 15, 2013 Events, Video On Friday, Nov. 15, Legacy Fighting Championship hosted its 25th event from the Arena Theatre in Houston. In the night’s main event, the promotion’s lightweight championship was on the line as champion Jorge Patino battled fellow Brazilian Carlos Diego Ferreira. The UFC and Strikeforce veteran Patino stepped into the Legacy cage having gone more than three years without tasting defeat, most recently besting Ultimate Fighter winner Efrain Escudero via split decision in May. The grappling ace Ferreira, meanwhile, entered the bout carrying a perfect, 8-0 record. Ferreira was victorious in both of his previous appearances under the Legacy banner, including a decision win over UFC veteran Carlo Prater. The night’s co-main event was expected to feature Olympic wrestling gold-medalist, Henry Cejudo, against Saul Elizondo. The 26-year-old Cejudo recently ran his record to 5-0 at Legacy 24 in October with a decision win over fellow bantamweight Ryan Hollis. However, the bantamweight did not appear at the event’s weigh-ins on Thursday, citing illness. As a result, the promotion scrapped the bout with the Texas native Elizondo. The nine-fight event kicked off at 8 p.m. ET with four, un-aired preliminary card bouts. The night’s five-fight main card was shown live on AXS TV beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
