Cormier will face former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans at UFC 170 on Feb. 22. The event takes place from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The UFC has also announced a welterweight bout between Rory MacDonald and Demian Maia, who are both coming off losses. Announced at the post-fight press conference, the event drew an attendance of 11,393 with a live gate of $1.785 million. Three men walked away $50,000 richer as Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva earned Fight of the Night honors, while Mauricio “Shogun” Rua won Knockout of the Night. The organization expects to air the first event on NBC in the summer, with the other later in the year. WSOF plans on putting on eight to 10 shows in 2014, with all but two continuing to air on its current platform of NBC Sports Network.
