Invicta FC names Julie Kedzie matchmaker

Just over a week after bantamweight Julie Kedzie announced her retirement following a controversial, split decision loss to Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 33, the veteran has a new job: Invicta FC matchmaker.

The 32-year-old Kedzie will continue in role as color commentator for the all-women’s promotion, but take on the added duties left behind when the promotion split with Janet Martin earlier in 2013.

John Lineker vs. Ali Bagautinov rumored for UFC 169

A battle of hard-charging flyweights is rumored for February’s UFC 169 in New Jersey as Brazilian John Lineker is expected to face off with Dagestan-native Ali Bagautinov.

UFC 169 takes place on Saturday, Feb. 1 from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. and is headlined by a pair of title fights as featherweight champion Jose Aldo faces Ricardo Lamas and bantamweight kingpin Dominick Cruz returns from a two-year absence to face interim champ Renan Barao.

Marshall tests positive, banned by PSAC

Former Bellator tournament winner and title challenger Doug Marshall has tested positive for a banned substance and has subsequently been suspended by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission.

The positive test, for an unknown banned substance, followed Marshall’s Bellator 109 bout against Alexander Shlemenko. The fighter will not be allowed to compete until Feb. 7 and will be fined an undisclosed amount.

The California State Athletic Commission has revealed the disclosed payroll of UFC on Fox 9, which took place on Saturday, Dec. 14 from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif.

Urijah Faber: $200,000 (includes $100,000 win bonus) vs. Michael McDonald: $17,000

UFC inks middleweight Andy Enz

The UFC is bringing Alaska’s Andy Enz back for a second chance.

Enz, a 22-year-old Gracie Barra Alaska product, was defeated by eventual finalist Uriah Hall during the elimination fights on The Ultimate Fighter 17. He recently defeated Mike Fannon to run his record to 10-1.

Bellator veteran Joe Camacho passes away at 41

Bellator MMA and King of the Cage veteran Joe Camacho died Monday of an apparent heart attack at the age of 41

A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Aloisio Silva, Camacho debuted as a professional mixed martial artist in 1999 and compiled a 13-19-3 record. He made his final appearance at Bellator 106 in November, when he dropped a unanimous decision to Cleber Luciano.
