Jake Ellenberger vs. Tarec Saffiedine joins UFC 172 lineup

A welterweight contest between Jake Ellenberger and the final Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine has been added to April’s UFC 172 event in Baltimore.

The pair were originally expected to headline UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore, but Ellenberger was forced out due to injury. Saffiedine went on to defeat Hyun Gyu Lim via unanimous decision at the event.

UFC 172 takes place from the Baltimore Arena on April 26. It is expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira.

Bellator 110 gains featherweight tournament

Bellator’s Feb. 28 visit to the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. will feature the opening round of the promotion’s season 10 featherweight tournament.

The field of eight will feature Matt Bessette against UFC veteran Diego Nunes, Desmond Green facing former tournament finalist Mike Richman, Scott Cleve clashing with Daniel Weichel and Will Martinez battling Goiti Yamauchi.

Bellator 110 airs live on Spike TV and is headlined by promotion’s four-man light heavyweight tournament.

Bellator 118 headlined by bantamweight title affair

On Friday, May 2, Bellator MMA returns to the Revel Atlantic City in New Jersey for its 118th offering.

In the night’s main event, former featherweight champion Joe Warren will challenger the winner of the March 7 title clash between current champion Eduardo Dantas and tournament winner Rafael Silva.

The card will also feature the season 10 featherweight tournament finals.

ONE FC: War of Nations adds two bouts

ONE FC’s March 14 visit to Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has added two contests.

Malaysian lightweight Peter Davis will battle fellow Malaysian Muay Thai champ Wes Jaya, while a third Malaysian fighter, Saiful Merican, meets Cambodian Khim Dima.

The event is headlined by a welterweight title bout between American Brock Larson and Japan’s Nobutatsu Suzuki.

Jonathan Brookins drops to flyweight, signs with Legacy FC

Former Ultimate Fighter winner Jonathan Brookins will make his flyweight debut on March 29 under the Legacy Fighting Championship banner.

Facing off with Brookins will be Cody Fuller.

LFC 29 takes place from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa in Catoosa, Okla. The main card airs live on AXS TV.
