On Friday, Jan. 24, Resurrection Fighting Alliance visited the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles for its 12th event.

In the night’s main event, the promotion crowned a new featherweight champion as unbeaten fighters Keoni Koch and Brian Ortega locked horns. The 33-year-old Koch, the older brother of UFC fighter Erik Koch, stepped into his RFA debut holding five professional victories, with four coming by way of submission. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Ortega also entered the cage with an unblemished record, including a third-round triangle choke submission over Jordan Rinaldi at RFA 9.

The night’s co-main event featured yet another title fight as the promotion’s bantamweight champion Pedro Munhoz looked to make the first defense of his belt against fellow undefeated fighter Billy Daniels. Munhoz captured the belt last August with a split decision win over UFC veteran Jeff Curran. The Utah-based Daniels entered his promotional debut having won five of his seven fights by way of submission.

Also on the main card, a pair of UFC and Strikeforce veterans clashed as middleweights Kevin Casey and Eddie Mendez went to battle.

AXS TV broadcast the night’s six-fight main card beginning at 10 p.m. ET. The four-fight undercard went un-aired.
