Pat Barry Announces Retirement from MMA
Pat Barry is taking an “indefinite leave of absence” from MMA and has been released from his UFC contract according to his manager, Brian Butler.
Over the past few fights I’ve just had this sinking feeling in my stomach whenever I have stepped into the Octagon and I realize, I DONT WANT TO WRESTLE. Not saying I will never do MMA again, but right now I just want to hit people. MMA and the UFC have been great to me and I will always support the company and the sport. I want to thank all my fans, sponsors and haters for being with me on this journey and I look forward to what future holds.

Sergio Pettis to Use UFC Bonus Money for Surgery
Sergio Pettis, the younger brother of UFC lightweight champ Anthony Pettis, suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career at UFC on Fox 10 but there’s some positives to take away from it. Sergio’s trainer, Duke Roufus explained that the bonus money Sergio earned from his Fight of the Night performance will go towards corrective eye surgery.
“He’s been wearing contacts into the cage,” Roufus said. “They get knocked out early in the fight, so what happens is he stands there squinting in front of his opponents. That’s what’s caused him to get hit so much in his last two fights. It’s easier for him to look at them if he stays still in front of his opponents instead of moving his feet.”
It’s a problem Sergio’s older brother used to deal with but Anthony had the operation and the results have been pretty obvious.
