Weidman versus Belfort on the same card as Sonnen versus Silva

UFC President Dana White revealed today in a media scrum that the middleweight championship bout between Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort will take place on the same card as the TUF Brazil 3 coaches fight between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva.

With no official date set yet, there is a target for the event to take place in the United States sometime in either May or July.

Werdum vs. Browne to main event UFC on Fox 11

At first it was thought that a title fight would be the main event at UFC on Fox 11, but it was made official today that it would be a non-title affair between Fabricio Werdum and Travis Browne.  The winner of the heavyweight bout will likely emerge as the next No. 1 contender for Cain Velasquez’s belt.

The card is also expected to host a women’s bantamweight bout between Liz Carmouche and Miesha Tate.

UFC on Fox 11 takes place in Orlando, Fla., on April 19.

Bisping to headline TUF Nations Finale against Kennedy

Michael Bisping and Tim Kennedy have been going at it for a long time across social media, and now the two will officially have a chance to go at it in the Octagon.  The two middleweights will square off in the main event of the TUF Nations Finale.

Kennedy was unsuccessful at winning the Strikeforce middleweight title on two separate occasions, but he has gone 2-0 inside the Octagon so far in his career, beating Roger Gracie and Rafael Natal.  Bisping is the winner of the third season of The Ultimate Fighter and has most recently defeated Alan Belcher at UFC 159.  The Brit has been on the sidelines for a while with a detached retina.  Now that he has been medically cleared, the fight will happen.

Nelson vs. Nogueira planned for Abu Dhabi

In 2012, the UFC made their first trek to Abu Dhabi, where Anderson Silva defended his title against Demian Maia and Frankie Edgar defeated B.J. Penn for the lightweight strap at UFC 112.

The promotion is planning a return to Abu Dhabi in 2014, and a bout between Roy Nelson and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is being targeted for the event.  Both fighters are on losing skids, but “Big Country” is looking to avoid a third consecutive loss.

The event will air live on UFC Fight Pass on April 11.

Dunham to face Bocek at TUF Nations Finale

The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale is starting to fill up, and another fight has been added to the mix today.  Evan Dunham and Mark Bocek will square off in a lightweight battle.

As of today, it is unclear as to whether the fight will take place on the main card or the undercard.

The TUF Nations Finale will take place on April 16 from Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

Pennington to replace Pena

With The Ultimate Fighter winner Juilianna Pena on the sidelines after a severe knee injury, it will be Raquel Pennington stepping up to take on Jessica Andrade at UFC 171.

Raquel Pennington was also a cast member on the reality show and had limited, advancing to the final four.  During the Finale, she defeated Roxanne Modaferri.

UFC 171 takes place on March 15 from Dallas.

Shalorus vs. Sexton caps off ONE FC 14

UFC veteran Kamal Shalorus will face off with Ariel Sexton at ONE FC 14.  The bout finalizes the card, leaving it with 10 bouts.  The fight will take place at lightweight.

ONE FC 14 takes place on March 14 from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Duke to meet Correia at UFC 172

TUF 18 alumni Jessamyn Duke will square off against Bethe Correia at UFC 172.  We first saw Correia at UFC Fight Night 33, where she won a split decision from Julie Kedzie in her Octagon debut.  Duke won her house entry fight, but lost to Raquel Pennington on the show.  At the Finale, she defeated Peggy Morgan by unanimous decision.

UFC 172 takes place in Baltimore on April 26.

Four fights added to CWFC 64

When Cage Warriors 64 takes place on Saturday, February 15, it will be from London, England.  Today, the card announced four bouts for the upcoming card.

Matt Inman will meet Gregor Weibel at the event in a welterweight clash, as well as a women’s straweight fight between Kirsty Davis and Veera Nykanen.  Lightweights David Howell and Brad Wheeler will square off, and another welterweight fight will take place, this time between Andy Kerr and Charlie Watts.

There were two fights that had to be tweaked due to injury as well.  David Lee has been forced out of his fight, so it will be Benjamin Brander stepping in against Nad Narimani.  Spencer Hewitt is stepping in to take on Cameron Else in place of Scott Pooley in a 130-pound catchweight bout.
