Orlando Adds Three More Matchups

The UFC’s return to the Sunshine State has added three fights to the bill for April 19.

Due to Rustam Khabilov being injured and forced out of UFC 170, Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos will fight another Russian, Khabib Nurmagomedov, at UFC on Fox 11. Also, middleweights will clash as Yoel Romero takes on Brad Tavares, while Pat Healy battles Jorge Masvidal at 155 pounds.

UFC Partners with Flash Entertainment to Bring Live Events to Middle East

The UFC has announced a major expansion into the Middle East by inking a deal with Flash Entertainment to conduct live events for two years.

On April 11, the UFC will host UFC Fight Night: Nelson vs. Nogueira in Abu Dhabi, which will be the second of six events to be held in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

The promotion will also seek to have a season of The Ultimate Fighter staged in the area.

Thiago Tavares out at UFC Fight Night 36, promotion seeking short-notice replacement

With two weeks remaining until UFC Fight Night 36, Brazilian Thiago Tavares has been forced off the card due to injury.

A replacement is being sought out to fight newcomer Zubair Tuhugov on Feb. 15 from the Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina in Brazil.

The main event features Lyoto Machida vs. Gegard Mousasi in a middleweight dual.

Rafael Silva injured, Anthony Leone steps in to challenge Eduardo Dantas at Bellator 111

A knee injury will force Rafael Silva out of his title bout against Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas. Stepping up in his place will be tournament finalist Anthony Leone.

According to a press release sent to The MMA Corner, the original plan for matchmakers was to insert former champ Joe Warren. However, Warren said he would not be ready by then, but will still compete in his already made bout in May.

Dantas and Leone will headline Bellator 111 on March 7, live on Spike TV.

Corey-Kruchten, Dugulubgov-Nunez added to WSOF 9 in Las Vegas

Two bouts been added to World Series of Fighting 9, which takes place on March 29 from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Featherweights Mike Corey and Shane Kruchten will look horns, while Ozzy Dugulubgov takes on Johnny Nunez at lightweight.

Both match-ups are expected to take place on the main card, which will air live and free on NBC Sports Network.
