Opponent found for Cormier

Yesterday we learned about an injury to Rashad Evans, which has taken him out of his scheduled fight with Daniel Cormier at UFC 170 next weekend.  Cormier went onto social media and asked for fighters to step up and take Evans’ place, as he still wanted to fight at the event.

A fighter has been found, as Patrick Cummins has been signed by the UFC to take on “DC”.  Cummins holds a record of 4-0, and is a veteran of both Strikeforce and ProElite.  He was an All-American wrestler at Penn State University, and interestingly enough, the two had wrestled against one another in their amateur wrestling careers.

UFC 170 takes place on Feb. 22 in Las Vegas.
