On Saturday, Feb. 15, the UFC hosted UFC Fight Night 36: Machida vs. Mousasi from the Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

In the night’s main event, former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida clashed with former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi. The Brazilian Machida made a successful middleweight debut in his previous outing, stopping Mark Munoz via head kick. Mousasi, meanwhile, made his 185-pound debut for the promotion after besting Ilir Latifi in his promotional debut at 205 pounds.

The night’s co-main event featured former Strikeforce middleweight kingpin Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza who looked to make his case for a title shot when he took on Frenchman Francis Carmont.

Also on the main card, Brazilian welterweight Erick Silva welcomed Takenori Sato to the Octagon, Brazilian Viscardi Andrade battled Nicholas Musoke, also at 170 pounds, and British featherweight Andy Ogle locked horns with Charles Oliveira.

The 12-fight event kicked off at 7:30 p.m ET with seven fights streaming on the promotion’s digital network, Fight Pass. Five additional bouts followed on Fox Sports 1 at 10:30 p.m.
