The fight card for the UFC’s return to Abu Dhabi on April 11 has added five bouts.

Two middleweight contests will grace the line-up as former title challenger Thales Leites will square off with Strikeforce import Trevor Smith, while TUF alum Chris Camozzi will take on Andrew Craig.

The Brazilian Leites has reeled off two straight wins since returning to the promotion in the summer of 2013. Smith, meanwhile, bounced back from a loss in his Octagon debut to best Brian Houston in January at UFC Fight Night 35.

Camozzi will look to snap the first two-fight skid of his career, having fallen to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Lorenz Larkin in 2013. Craig also fell in his last outing, falling victim to a second-round, rear-naked choke against Luke Barnatt.

Joining the pair of 185-pound collisions will be a flyweight affair between Alptekin Ozkilic and Dustin Ortiz, a lightweight bout between Ramsey Nijem and Beneil Dariush, and finally, a featherweight clash between newly signed fighters Jim Alers and Alan Omer.

Ozkilic and Ortiz are hoping to get back in the win column at one another’s expense, having fallen against Louis Smolka and John Moraga, respectively, in their last appearances in the Octagon.

Both Nijem and Dariush will look to build on the momentum they gained at the aforementioned UFC Fight Night 35. Nijem dominated Justin Edwards from bell-to-bell, while Dariush made short work of Charlie Brenneman by submission.

With the addition of Alers, the promotion has inked yet another champion of Europe’s Cage Warriors Fighting Championship. The fighter relinquished his 145-pound strap to take on the 25-year-old Iraq native Omer.

UFC Fight Night 39 takes place from the DU Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Friday, April 11 and is headlined by a heavyweight fight between Roy Nelson and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The event will air via the promotion’s digital network, UFC Fight Pass.
