Bellator 111 Weigh-in Results The Bellator bantamweight championship will be on the line in the main event at Bellator 111 tomorrow night in Thackerville, Okla. Today the fighters made it official as both champion Eduardo Dantas and challenger Anthony Leone made weight. Additionally, all eight of the heavyweights who will be participating in the season 10 tournament made weight as well. Guylain suffered severe head trauma as a result of his bout last Thursday at EFC Africa 27. He was immediately stabilized by an on-site medical team and was transported to a hospital to receive further treatment for swelling and bleeding of the brain. He received treatment from one of South Africa’s top neuro-surgical teams, but it was not enough as the fighter passed away. Surviving by his wife and his son, Guylain was only 29 years old. In his honor and memory, all fighters at the upcoming EFC Africa 28 will wear black armbands. Source: EFC Africa California Bans TRT The California State Athletic Commission has followed suit after Nevada and Brazil recently banned testosterone-replacement therapy (TRT). According to the commission, in order to receive a TRT exemption, fighters will soon require passing World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) tests. This will create an “effective ban” on TRT. Until these rules are solidified, no TRT applications will be granted in California. Source: MMA Junkie Magny-Macario Joins Cincinnati Card Another bout has been announced for the Octagon’s trip to Cincinnati later this year. Welterweights Neil Magny and William Macario will square off in the latest addition to the card. Both fighters came to the promotion through the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, with Magny on the 16th season, and Macario on the second season to take place in Brazil. The American has gone 2-2 inside the Octagon, while the Brazilian has gone 1-1. UFC Fight Night 40 takes place on May 10. Source: UFC UFC Announces International Events International fans of the UFC will be licking their chops today, as the promotion has announced four international events. On May 31, the Octagon will roll into Berlin, Germany. A little over a month later, it will be set up in Dublin, Ireland for a night of fights on July 19. The promotion will return to Sweden on Oct. 4, and close out its international calender in Istanbul, Turkey on Nov. 22. Source: UFC / Twitter / Fighters Only Wallhead Signs with CWFC Bellator and BAMMA veteran Jim Wallhead has returned to his roots and has signed a contract to fight with Cage Warriors Fighting Championships. Even though he has not fought inside the CWFC cage since 2010, Wallhead has already fought for the promotion 15 times. Wallhead will fight exclusively for the promotion over the next 18 months, as he has signed a five-fight deal. The welterweight will make his return on May 3 in Liverpool, England.
