One house, 16 fighters. It might not seem all that daunting, but each season, The Ultimate Fighter’s format takes a toll, both mentally and physically, on the fighters seeking to snag that six-figure contract. While TUF Nations is hitting the semifinal round, the third installment of the Brazilian version of the UFC’s landmark reality series is just beginning.

On the first episode of the show, half of the 32 fighters were vying for spots in the TUF house. Eight middleweights and eight heavyweights battled it out to join teams coached by former Pride champion Wanderlei Silva and three-time UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen. The remaining half of the middleweights and heavyweights will compete in their qualifying round fights on next week’s episode, and coaches will pick their teams once the remaining fights conclude. The show streams each Sunday on the promotion’s Fight Pass digital network.
