Dennis Siver Fails Post-Fight Drug Test at UFC 168

Dennis Siver’s post-UFC 168 drug test came back positive for HCG. The substance is linked to anabolic steroid use and/or weight cutting. Siver had defeated Manny Gamburyan by unanimous decision but that is likely to be overturned to a no-contest. Siver also likely faces a fine and suspension.

UFC Heads to San Antonio on June 28

During the UFC 171 post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White revealed that the promotion is heading to San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, June 28.

No fights have been revealed for the event at this time.

Daniel Sarafian Drops to Welterweight; Faces Kiichi Kunimoto at UFC 174

Daniel Sarafian will look to begin a new chapter in his MMA career as he leaves his home country of Brazil to face Kiichi Kunimoto in a welterweight contest. Sarafian is just 1-2 in the UFC but his losses have been by split-decision. Kunimoto’s UFC debut win was due to Luiz Dutra being disqualified for landing elbows to the back of the head.

UFC 174 will take place on June 14 from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Lance Benoist vs. Bobby Voelker Added to UFC Albuquerque

Bobby Voelker will meet Lance Benoist when the UFC heads to Albuquerque on June 7 at Tingley Coliseum. Voelker is on a three-fight losing streak and Benoist has lost his last two fights. Benoist has also been on the shelf for quite some time due to a broken leg.

The UFC’s trip to New Mexico is scheduled to be headlined by a lightweight battle between Benson Henderson and Rustam Khabilov.

Rousimar Palhares Undergoing Enhanced Drug Testing

Brazilian welterweight Rousimar Palhares is being put through expanded pre-fight drug testing ahead of his WSOF 9 title fight with Steve Carl on March 29.

The former UFC combatant has tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in the past the Nevada State Athletic Commission has chosen to monitor leading up the bout.

Terry Etim Pulled From Bellator Tournament

Former UFC lightweight Terry Etim has been forced out of the season 10 Bellator tournament due to a torn ACL.

Stepping in for Etim will be Tim Welch against Derek Campos.

Bellator 113 takes place on Friday, March 21 from Mulvane, Kan.

Pat Barry Makes Glory Debut at Glory 16  

Former UFC heavyweight Pat Barry will face Zack Mwekassa in a heavyweight bout for Barry’s Glory debut. Barry went 8-7 as a pro in MMA and left the UFC in January. Barry will make his official return to kickboxing at the World Kickboxing Association – Combat Sports Challenge 39 event in Virginia this Saturday.

Glory 16 is set to feature Nieky Holzken vs. Marc de Bonte in a welterweight world title bout and takes place on May 3 from Broomfield, Colo.
