Cage Warriors 66 results

Nicolas Dalby fought three close rounds with Sergei Churilov in the headliner of Saturday’s Cage Warriors 66 event, but it only took one highlight-reel kick from the Copenhagen native to floor Churilov, secure the win, and become the new Cage Warriors welterweight champion. Also, in co-main event action, Mohsen Bahari scored a decision win by outstriking opponent Bruno Carvalho, and in a stunning affair, Damir Hadzovic recovered from a shot below the belt to drop UFC veteran John Maguire and earn a first-round TKO win. Cage Warriors 66 took place live from Ballerup Super Arena in Ballerup, Denmark. The results are as follows:

Undefeated featherweights debut at UFC on Fox 11

Twenty-three-year-old Mirsad Bektic will make his UFC debut against fellow undefeated featherweight and Legacy FC product Chas Skelly. Skelly, who trains at Team Takedown with UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks, owns eight of his past 11 wins inside the distance. Bektic, a 7-0 product with a knack for submissions, recently defeated WEC veteran Joe Pearson in December.

Pancrase 257 to feature Hironaka-Kobayashi

Pancrase 257 will not only mark the final time that the legendary promotion holds an event inside of a ring, but it will also bring an exciting 13-fight card to the Yokohoma Cultural Gymnasium on March 30. Lightweight King of Pancrase and rising lightweight product Kuniyoshi Hironaka will combat Shoot 154-pound champion Isao Kobayashi in the evening. Despite both men’s respective championship statuses, the bout will go on as a three-round battle, meaning that neither man’s title will hang in the balance.

Dober-Hein to battle in Berlin

Drew Dober may have suffered a defeat to Sean Spencer, but he will get another shot at a first UFC win. On May 31, Dober will meet German prospect Nick Hein as part of UFC Fight Night 41, which emanates live from O2 World Berlin. While Dober looks to get back to his winning ways, Hein will come off of a five-fight winning streak to compete at home at the UFC’s return to Germany.

UFC books Smith-Ferreira for June 28 in San Antonio

The Ultimate Fighter 16 winner Colton Smith will look to right his ship after recent defeats when he welcomes Carlos Diego Ferreira to the UFC on June 28, when the promotion comes to San Antonio. Ferreira, a former Legacy FC lightweight champion, remains undefeated in nine fights, including five submission wins. Smith, despite giving up some experience to Ferreira, owns a pro win over Bellator veteran Mike Ricci and will remain a threat to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt.
