Shields inks deal with WSOF

Former UFC title contender Jake Shields is the newest fighter to sign with the World Series of Fighting.  Shields was recently released by the UFC after a poor performance against Hector Lombard.

He was brought in to fight inside the Octagon after leaving the Strikeforce middleweight championship behind in 2010.

Shields will enter a division full of former UFC castoffs, with champion Rousimar Palhare, Jon Fitch, and Josh Burkman at the helm.  The deal is apparently for four-fights, and is expected to debut in the Summer.
