McGregor to return for Dublin card against Miller Irish standout Conor McGregor will return to action and fight in the main event when the UFC returns to Ireland this July. Opposing McGregor will be American Top Team fighter Cole Miller. “Notorious” burst onto the scene last year with a big knockout of Marcus Brimage, and followed it up with a victory over Max Holloway, making him 2-0 inside the Octagon. He has been on the shelf since the Holloway fight as a result of a torn ACL that was suffered during the fight. Source: UFC Bellator 118 Weigh-in Results The interim bantamweight championship will be on the line when Joe Warren and Rafael Silva meet in the main event tomorrow evening at Bellator 118, but only for Warren after Silva could not make weight. When the fight was originally scheduled, it was going to be Eduardo Dantas defending his gold against Warren, but an injury forced the champion out, and the 2013 Summer Series tournament winner was inserted in to fight against “The Baddest Man on the Planet.”. Additionally, there will be two tournament fights on the docket, with a welterweight semifinal bout between Andrey Koreshkov and Justin Baesman. Korsehkov was originally slated to face Sam Oropeza, but Oropeza came in heavy and was replaced by Baesman. The other fight will kick off the 2014 Summer Series light heavyweight tournament, as Liam McGeary and Mike Mucitelli will battle in the semifinal round. Both McGeary and Mucitelli hold undefeated professional records of 6-0 and 6-0(1), respectively. Undercard fighters Gemiyale Adkins and Ryan Contaldi also missed the mark for their respective weight classes. Prior to the defeat, the Brazilian was riding a five fight winning streak. On the other hand, High has strung two victories together after losing his Octagon debut against Erick Silva. The American will drop to lightweight, which is where the fight will be contested. UFC Fight Night 42 will take place from Albuquerque, N.M. on June 7. Source: UFC De Randamie set to meet Dudieva Germaine de Randamie will introduce newcomer Milana Dudieva to the Octagon at UFC 174. Hailing from Russia, Dudieva holds a 10-3 record, but will face a tough test taking on de Randamie who has gone 1-1 inside the UFC. The Dutchwoman was victorious against Julie Kedzie, but fell short in her next fight against Amanda Nunes. UFC 174 takes place on June 14 from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Source: MMA Junkie Six fighters confirmed for Battlegrounds MMA tournament One night tournaments used to be one of the driving forces behind mixed martial arts, and Battlegrounds MMA will be looking to bring back that format. On Friday, June 27, a one night, eight-man welterweight tournament will be hosted in Tulsa, Okla. Currently, six fighters have confirmed their status for the fight, and they are Dennis Hallman, Cody McKenzie, Chris Honeycutt, Luigi Fioravanti, David Mitchell and Josh Bryant. Two fighters have yet to be announced, along with the rest of the fight card. As far as the matchups in the tournament, it has been announced that after the weigh-in that takes place the previous day, a lottery will be held to determine who will fight who. Source: The MMA Corner Michaud steps in to replace Mitchell Jingliang Li will have a new opponent for his upcoming fight at UFC 173, as David Michaud will step in to fill the shoes that once belonged to Danny Mitchell. The fight will mark Michaud’s debut inside the Octagon, however he is a perfect 7-0 in his career so far. It will be Li’s UFC debut as well, and he has gone 8-2 outside of the promotion. Currently, the bout has only been verbally agreed upon, and still awaits a contract and for it to be officially finalized. UFC 173 takes place on May 24 from Las Vegas.
