The top-ranked female strawweight in the world is set to defend her belt for the first time next month.

Jessica Aguilar won the World Series of Fighting women’s 115-pound belt earlier this year during a following a dominant, first-round victory over Alida Gray, and she’ll put that strap on the line for the first time on June 21 against promotional newcomer Emi Fujino. The bout marks the first of three title bouts set for the WSOF 10 fight card.

One of the most highly touted female fighters in the world, Aguilar will look to maintain her spot atop the 115-pound rankings as she goes after her ninth straight victory. With wins over top-notch fighters like former Invicta FC champion Carla Esparza and Japanese legend Megumi Fujii over the past few years, Aguilar’s impressive resume has been growing with each passing victory, along with her stranglehold atop the rankings. However, “Jag” is going to need to continue to put on dominant performances over the course of her next few fights, as the fighter who comes out of the UFC’s upcoming 115-pound Ultimate Fighter tournament is going to make a strong move towards her top spot in the rankings.

A dominant win for the champion may be hard to come by against Fujino though, who’s proven to be incredibly tough to finish over the course of her 21-fight career. Fujino may not be a huge name to casual fans, and her record leaves a bit to be desired after dropping her last fight to Mizuki Inoue late last year, but Fujino hasn’t been finished in any of her seven career losses and has a chance to pull off a major upset if she can take out Aguilar.

WSOF 10 will take place on June 21 from the The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The main card is set to air on NBC Sports Network at 9 p.m. ET following online prelims.
