Bellator 118: Joe Warren vs. Rafael Silva Full Fight Video Highlights

On Friday, May 2, Bellator MMA hosted its 118th event from the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J.

In the night’s main event, the promotion’s interim bantamweight title was up for grabs, but only for one combatant, as a pair of tournament winners locked horns. Former featherweight champion and season nine tournament winner Joe Warren challenged for 135-pound gold as he faced off with Summer Series bantamweight tournament winner Rafael Silva. Warren was originally expected to face the promotion’s current champion, Brazilian Eduardo Dantas, but Dantas was forced out three weeks before the bout with a head injury. Silva was called upon for his countryman on short notice, but could not reach the bantamweight limit during weigh-ins.

Also on the card, the promotion held one half of the semifinals of the season 10 welterweight tournament. Former title challenger Andrey Koreshkov battled Justin Baesman for a spot in the finals. Koreshkov was originally slated to face Sam Oropeza, but like Silva, Oropeza did not make weight. As such, he was pulled from the bout and the tournament.

The promotion also kicked off the opening round of its Summer Series light heavyweight tournament as Liam McGeary faced Mike Mucitelli.

The night’s preliminary card kicked off at 7 p.m. ET on Spike.com. The four-fight main card aired live on Spike TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
