It aired live on AXS TV. For its second event of 2014, the Canadian promotion featured an action-packed card with two titles on the line. In the night’s main event the promotion’s middleweight title was on the line as champion Sam Alvey took on Wes Swofford. Alvey captured the belt in October with a hard-fought, fifth-round TKO of Jason South. Swofford, meanwhile, made his second appearance with the promotion. The Californian’s last four wins had come via first-round knockout. Also on the card was a rematch for the promotion’s vacant lightweight title. Tom Gallicchio, who missed weight by 0.2 pounds at MFC 39, earned a crack at the 155-pound title after defeating Kurt Southern in January. Southern was seeking revenge for the prior loss in the five-round affair. The card was originally slated to feature a third title tilt between bantamweight champion Anthony Birchak and Kevin Croom, but Birchak was forced out due to injury. Croom, however, remained on the card and faced Jesse Brock in a title eliminator. The nine-fight event kicked off at 8:30 p.m. ET with three bouts streaming on the promotion’s Facebook page. The six-fight main card aired live on AXS TV beginning at 10 p.m. ET. For the full results of the event, click here.
